| Abstract;Kobe New Transit Port Island Line was opened in 1981 by connecting the floating town "Port Island" centered around Kobe Port and Sannomiya. In the Port Island 2nd which is extended adjacent to the south of Port Island, the construction of new town is under progress. Furthermore, at offshore, the construction of Kobe Airport is underway aiming at the opening in February 2006. The extension construction work of Kobe New Transit Port Island Line is to connect between Sannomiya and Kobe Airport with extension and double-track conversion of Port Island Line as the public transportation system in coordination with these projects. It is under construction with all efforts aiming at the opening at the beginning of February 2006 in coordination with the opening of Kobe Airport. In this article, the characteristics of the railroad and the outline of the electric facilities were introduced. The main items introduced are as follows. 1) Operation control system: The operation control computer is the equipment to perform train schedule control, track control, train operation control and situation monitoring by coordinating the signal security facility, ATO/IR facility, communication facility, electric power facility, and disaster prevention monitoring facility. As the basis of the operation control system, it is constituted with a parallel and double redundancy system. With the double track conversion and extension, the entire operation control system was newly constructed, and after the opening of the full line, test operations for function/performance confirmations were carried out outside business hours, and all the facilities including the signal security facility and communication facility were converted simultaneously. 2) Vehicles: With the present extension, 3-tran formation of newly built vehicles was added in order to secure the transportation capability. |
