Abstract; The purpose of this paper is to provide readers with better understanding of "turbo principle". In order to achieve this goal, this paper explains the concept of Extrinsic Information Transfer (EXIT) chart. It is a convenient tool for evaluating the efficiency of mutual information exchange that is an essential tool for understanding the algorithms based on turbo principle. As the subject matter, Soft Canceleller followed by Minimum Mean Squared Error filter (SC-MMSE) is taken up and explained. And its' asymptotic and convergence properties are analyzed. In addition, the concept of turbo equalization is applied to multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems. And presents that when analyzing the mutual information exchange for MIMO turbo equalization, multi-dimensional EXIT plane has to be used for evaluating convergence property.
