| Abstract;Polyglyceryl-3 caprylate is a mild vegetable based cosmetic co-emulsifier with unique anti-microbial properties. This novel deodorant agent is very attractive for deodorant applications due to the above unique properties. It reliably reduces odor-causing bacteria on the skin at very low concentrations, while being non-irritating and non-sensitizing to the skin. It does not only show a reservoir effect and thereby a 24h efficacy, but an "activity on demand". Enzymes released under the arms during our perspiration will cleave Polyglyceryl-3 caprylate, releasing small amounts of caprylic acid, which is 100 times more active than the original polyglyceryl-3 caprylate and which inhibit the bacteria instantly.
