| Abstract; As a hierarchical classification of the enzyme reaction, a system called the EC (Enzyme commission) number is used worldwide. In order to get the EC number, Enzyme protein is identified on individual enzyme reaction and some paper which described the property must have been announced. Therefore, it can not be utilized in the frame of the enzyme classification, until the enzyme protein is identified, even if the existence of some enzymes is indicated on the metabolism pass way. In order to solve this problem, Enzyme reaction classification scheme classified at the standard which is equivalent to the EC number was developed even if it was the reaction to which the EC number is not formally given. The enzyme reaction in the KEGG/REACTION database was all defined as a reactant pair, and described as a combination of substrate and product pair. Discrimination number and RC (Reaction Classification), which show atomic change pattern which changes in the enzyme reaction, were introduced here. In addition, examining correlations between RC number and protein arrangement using KEGG Ortholog Cluster, a result which suggested that the RC number was related to not only reaction mechanism but also protein family was obtained. |
