Abstract;Clinical pharmacology of theophylline (TP) in childhood bronchial asthma is explained. As bronchodilator effects and anti-inflammatory effects and the optimum blood concentration of TP, bronchodilator effects and blood concentration of TP, blood concentration that exhibits anti-inflammatory effects of TP, combined effects of TP and the inhalation steroid are shown. In addition, pharmacodynamics (absorption of TP sustained release preparation in the childhood, TP metabolism in the childhood and clearance, drug interaction) of TP, and side effects of TP are described.
