| Abstract; In 1999, it has started the 40kHz long wave signal transmission for the Japan Standard Time from Mt. Ohtakadoya in Fukushima. Since the transmission started, various radio wave clocks have come to be used widely and there should be more needs for exact time because of the Ubiquitous era. The electromagnetic environments for the long waves (40kHz and 60kHz) used by radio wave clocks are not fully conducted yet. In this report, we measured the magnetic field intensity of the 60kHz standard time wave in Kyushu area by an antenna that is used for a radio wave clock. Then, we measured the magnetic near field strength generated from various home electric appliances, and investigated about the time waveform, frequency spectrum, and the time dependency of generated signal's frequency. As a result, we have noticed that there are various home electric appliances that generate 40-60kHz low frequency noise signals and the frequency of signal generated from an inverter-type fluorescent lamp changes according to twice the frequency of a commercial power supply.
