Abstract;Field surveys were carried out on the gullies formed in the overgrazed pastureland catchment (0.34km2) on the tableland located in New South Wales, Australia. The bandwidth, depth and floor width of the gullies were measured with laser range meters. The geomorphic process of gully erosion development in the past 50 years was estimated from these measurements in combination with the long-term survey results obtained by Blong. The gullies were classified into active, semiacitve and stable with stationary cross-section, and the relationships between gully shapes and developmental stages were examined.
