| Abstract; This is the case of a 75-year-old male. He visited the hospital with a chief complaint of edema on the left lower extremity, which was totally swelling with mild flare and thermal sense at initial diagnosis. Inflammatory symptoms were eliminated by administration of antibiotics, but the edema remained. MR angiography denied the presence of deep phlebothrombosis, and CT recognized a left-side-predominent remarkable swelling of lymph nodes in the pelvis and abdomen. Various tests clarified the metastasis of the primary prostate cancer in the left lobe to the lymph nodes, diagnosing him as secondary lymphadema. The edema in the left lower extremity was resolved and CT confirmed reamrkable reduction in the lymph nodes in the pelvic and abdomen now, six months after starting endocrine therapy. For patients who visit the hospital for edema on unilateral lower extremity, it is considered to be important to conduct immediately appropriate diagnostic imaging, adding to inquiry of the course and physical examination (summriazed by the author). |
