Abstract; The Central Council decided to control concentration in light oil to be less than 0.005%. Standardization of analytical technique suitable for analysis of the trace sulfur is necessary and is examined in this study utilizing XRF technique. Adoption of polarized beam optical geometry in energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer equipped with silicon drift detector and digital signal processor allows us to analyze trace sulfur and chlorine in oil with super sensitivity and high precision.
