| Abstract;Although it is reported that retinoic acid is concerned with the signal transmitter as regulating the gene expression, breeding and differentiation of the cell and the synthesis of the calcium binding protein through retinoic acid receptor, nuclear receptor, the mechanisms of its biochemical actions on the nerve cell, still, remain unknown. Therefore, we investigated the effect of retinoic acid on the extension of the neurite of primary culture in nerve cell using serum-free medium. The results show that retinoic acid promotes the extension of nerve fiber and survival maintenance of the neurite. It is assumed that the extension in the neurite by retinoic acid is related to its gene expressive effects. (author abst.) |
