Abstract; After surgery for bilateral cleft lip, deformity and eversion of the nose and lips are observed, which defects require corrective surgery as the patient ages. Since long ago, supporting materials have been transplanted to the nose for rhinoplasty. The implants used for this purpose include artificial materials (acrylics, polyethylene, silicon, etc.), allogenic bone, autologous bone or cartilage (iliac bone, costal cartilage, and auricular cartilage). Among these materials, the auricular cartilage is the easiest to harvest and is ilexible, making it a useful implant to maintain the softness of the nasal dorsum. We performed rhinoplasty using an auricular cartilage graft and secondary corrective surgery for the cleft lip in a 6-year-old patient with a history of bilateral cleft lip repair and the major complaint of nasal obstruction. After follow-up for 1 year since the operation, both the patient and his family are satisfied with the results. An outline of the treatment regimen is reported here. (author abst.)
