Abstract;Though many children with atopic dermatitis is positive with food allergen in the prick test for specific IgE antibody, an index of immediate-type reaction, the delayed-type reaction tests, effective for determining whether food allergen is involved with the atopic dermatitis or not, are not routinely performed. This time, a patch test for food was conducted on egg, milk, soybean, wheat and rice in three children with atopic dermatitis who had food allergy, and its relation to other allergic tests, food-intake status and the process of eruption were examined. In Japan, removal diet therapy is performed at first, based on a patient's medical history or RAST values, and food-loading test is started after improvement in dermal symptoms, but this time, the results showed in all cases that a patch test can be useful as a standard for rleasing the removal diet.
