Abstract; An epidemiological survey was conducted to clarify the source of Enterohemorragic Escherichia Coli O-157 infection which was caught by 2 toddlers living separated towns in Toyama Prefecture. For the results, visiting a same recreational cattle ranch was a common event for these cases, and sucking fingers exposed to the bacterium due to touching infected calves or fence and floor of their pen in the farm was detected to be a source of the infection. These results suggested the possibility of direct transmission of Enterohemorragic Escherichia Coli O-157, and the importance of taking behavioral characteristics of toddlers into account for conducting the epidemiological survey of this infection.
