| Abstract;The mosquito noise and false contour that do not exist in an original image sometimes appear in a JPEG decoded image. These noises are desirable for us to remove. Thereupon, we propose the method that mosquito noise is reduced on the basis of the pixel information of a JPEG decoded image. First of all, our proposed method calculates variance by using the luminance of each pixel in the square block. Next, we do the filtering by using .EPSILON. filter method with the maximum value of the variance in each square block. Through several computer experiments, we understood that we are able to reduce mosquito noise by using our proposed method without damaging the quality of an image. (author abst.) |
