| Abstract;Origin of a custom to consider the physiognomy of a house and build a house is very old and is said to that it occurred in China approximately 4500 years ago. However, the concept of the physiognomy of a house in those days concept to become familiar with sunlight throughout nature and the concept to fear a mystery of a natural phenomenon are the object that was instinct-like and combine and differ from a current physiognomy of a house. The physiognomy of a house to be born in ancient China, spread and among the people also spread soon for Japanese court building. Though a non-scientific object also is included in it, almost of the physiognomy of a house that is reported at present, it is a dangerous thing to conclude flatly that it is superstition unconditionally for the physiognomy of a house. In this paper, it considered as a main purpose to analyze whether it includes architecture-like standpoint truth that enough is available, even though it gets entangled at the today a way of life and environment remarkably change throughout the physiognomy of a house or not and investigated a literature.
