Abstract; This paper discusses an angular momentum control of a tumbling spacecraft by repetitive impulses using a manipulator. Because the external points to be pushed by the arm are limited, torques along certain directions cannot be applied to the spacecraft. To avoid this difficulty, a new controller is proposed to combine a control of camping the angular momentum with a control of increasing controllability where the present control input is determined so that at the next control timing, the angular momentum vector diverts from the uncontrollable directions. Numerical simulations are given to show the validity of the proposed controller. (author abst.)
