| Abstract;Concept of Robot Satellite Cluster Systems-RoboSat Clusters-is proposed as a post ETS-VII in this paper. The systems consist of multiple robotic satellites with reconfigurable manipulators and tether control systems. The purpose of the system is to test fundamental functions of for capture missions of failed satellites, variable orbit servicing missions and formation flying missions including tether-used applications. This paper discusses the concept, technical issues and desired applications through an elementary concept design of the system based on existing and ongoing-developed technologies. (author abst.) |
