What is J-EAST Database ?

J-EAST contains documents from about 3,000 sources(Listed here), including academic publications, serials, proceedings and technical reports of hospitals, universities and enterprises published in Japan. Abstracts of articles in Japanese were translated into English.
J-EAST is the largest free-of-charge searchable database of citations and abstracts of documents published in Japan in all the fields of Science, Technology and Medicine, being also a unique source of Japanese gray literature and it is a useful database not only for university researchers, but also medical doctors and enterprises.

Links to full-text is available for 172,914 records. (including 1,388,397 records as of March 28th, 2007)
A fee may be charged (in line with each publisher's policy) for copy of the full-text.

J-EAST database has stopped updating since April, 2007. We are sorry for the inconvenience but will appreciate your continued support of our document delivery service. We recommend other databases such as “J-STAGE”　(http://www.jstage.jst.go.jp/) for new data on Japanese academic publications. Other online resources in English are also available through the field “Databases” in this Science Links Japan website.

JST provides document delivery service on a fee basis.
For orders of any documents, please send requests by email, postal mail, or facsimile
to the JST Library.

You are requested to specify the accession number, article title and journal title.
Please note that documents will be sent ONLY by air mail,
and will NOT be sent by email as a PDF attachment nor by fax.

J-EAST includes articles only in Japanese.
Please confirm the language classification in the bibliographic data before ordering.
