Fourth Ministerial Meeting on Climate Change

Formally called the Ministerial Meeting of the Gleneagles Dialogue on Climate Change, Clean Energy, and Sustainable Development, the conference was first held in Britain in 2005, Mexico in 2006, Germany in 2007, and then in Japan in 2008. From March 14 to 16, Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, hosted a gathering of environmental and energy ministers as well as representatives of the World Bank and other international organizations and NGOs from 21 countries and regions that are major emitters of greenhouse gases, including the G8 countries, China, India, and Brazil. The participants discussed technology exchange, fund procurement, and a framework for reducing emissions from 2013. The outcome of these discussions was reported at the G8 Hokkaido Toyako Summit.
