Hypersonic passenger airplane

This is a passenger airplane that can travel at a speed of mach 5. The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) began research on such an aircraft in 2002 and has already conducted a successful engine combustion experiment with liquid hydrogen fuel. Future issues are increasing the engine’s propulsion power and reducing the airplane’s weight. After the hypersonic airplane is put into operation, flights between Tokyo and Los Angeles will be possible in two hours. The airplane’s body has been given a narrow nose to decrease body area so that it can withstand high wind pressure and has been made longer than the bodies of conventional aircraft to accommodate its large engines. Passenger capacity will be about 20 people.
